Melissa Warwick iniciou sua trajetória na fotografia em 2007, na cidade de Barcelona. Graduou-se no Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya e realizou diversos cursos na área, incluindo o de fotografia profissional pelo New York Institute of Photography. De volta ao Brasil em 2009, percorreu o interior nordestino trabalhando como fotógrafa em projetos com foco em turismo, economia criativa e cultura local, onde passou a dedicar-se integralmente à fotografia documental. Suas fotografias circularam em mostras pelo Brasil e outros países como Espanha, Áustria e Irã. Em 2018, Melissa foi citada na matéria do El País Brasil "Uma seleção de fotografias feitas por brasileiras”, por Victor Moriyama e em 2019 foi destaque numa matéria da VICE Brasil sobre a série "É Tudo Fachada”. No mesmo ano, a série foi selecionada em 2o lugar na convocatória ExistiResistir do Festival Floripa na Foto (SC), exibida na 5a edição do Pequeno Encontro da Fotografia (Olinda/PE) e em 2021, foi contemplada com uma exposição individual pela lei Aldir Blanc. Atualmente, Melissa é aluna do curso de pós-graduação em Fotografia como Suporte para a Imaginação (EAD), no Espaço F/508 de Cultura em Brasília/DF.
Melissa Warwick began her career in photography in 2007, in the city of Barcelona. She graduated from the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya and took several courses in the area, including professional photography at the New York Institute of Photography. Back to Brazil in 2009, she traveled through the northeastern interior of the country working as a photographer on projects focused on tourism, creative economy and local culture, where she began to dedicate herself entirely to documentary photography. Her photographs have circulated in exhibitions throughout Brazil and other countries such as Spain, Austria, and Iran. In 2018, Melissa was quoted in the El País Brasil article "A selection of photographs made by Brazilian women" by Victor Moriyama and in 2019 she was featured in a VICE Brazil article about the series "É Tudo Fachada" ["It's All Façade"]. In the same year, the series was selected in 2nd place in the ExistiResistir convocation of the Floripa na Foto Festival (SC), exhibited in the 5th edition of Pequeno Encontro da Fotografia (Olinda/PE) and in 2021, was awarded a solo exhibition by the Aldir Blanc law. Currently, Melissa is a student of the post-graduation course in Photography as Support for the Imagination (EAD), at Espaço F/508 de Cultura in Brasília/DF.
